New ASMS Fellow members are required to participate in the Society's Peer Review program. This program provides blinded technical review and feedback of member cases for quality assurance purposes. The program reinforces the importance of diligence and consistency in all aspects of the Mohs procedure and related laboratory practices, to ensure high quality patient care. Members may use ASMS Peer Review documentation for partial fulfillment of CLIA's laboratory testing requirements.
Up to two cases per year may be submitted by Fellow members at no additional charge. Forms and instructions will be mailed to Fellow members in mid-January for submission of one case from the prior calendar year. Longtime Fellow members and non-Fellow members may choose to participate on a voluntary basis. Non-Fellows will pay a submission fee of $150 per case. This fee also applies to Fellow members who submit more than 2 cases for review in a given year.
